my first OC A7M266 1.4 @1.53

I've been addicted to SETI recently, and I remember someone saying that SETI loves a FAST FSB. So about 15 mins ago I said.. what the hell, and I raised my FSB to 145. I got nervous, and prepared myself for the worst... and it worked! HAHA! the damn thing worked :p I would have never of had the bawls to do this without you guys. THanks.

I love how my Tachometer for my CPU is off the scale :) I think I'll leave it like that :)

and here is my interval log if anyone cares, updated every 15 mins. I am running a A7M266 bios 1004a which reports temps 8-10 degrees cooler than the more recently released versions, 1005 and 1006. I run SETI pretty much 24/7 so my CPU is always @ 100%

I also like how my OC only raised my temp by 1degree C

Thanks guys :D

Hey, we're here to help! Glad you got your rig running all the better.

And your right, that Tach looks v. cool pegged off the scale!

POP! There goes my bubble... I tried running Prime95 and no dice. It wouldn't even do 1 iteration. I am running @ 140 fsb and Prime95 seems to be running nicely. Could you all point me in the right direction to a step by step how to make my computer run at higher speeds, and do it stabily?. What causes the instability. I know that heat changes the resistance of the silicon and makes it f**k up, but my temps were pretty good. I unsuccesfully did the pencil unlocking trick, and I don't feel like taking off my HS anytime soon. What can I say, I'm lazy :)

Try giving your CPU a little bit more juice and see if it starts to like you. That's what I have to do (currently, hopefully not after my burn-in) to get my XP into Windows @ 147

I agree with Oni. If your temperatures are accurate, you've got a bit of headroom there. My experience with the T-BIRDS is that they like more Vcore, often to the boards max of 1.85. I've run every T-BIRD I've owned at various times at 1.85 volts with no problems. Many users have done volt mods and go to 2.02 and beyond.

As you are aware, keep an eye on the temperatures.

Good Luck!
