Hi everyone this is my first build, just wondering what you all thought of it. So here it is.

MSI PT8 NEO-V mainboard
P4 2.6GHz (upgrading to P4 3.2GHz soon)
768mb PC2700 (upgrading to GeIL 1GB PC3200 soon)
GeForce 6600GT AGP
120GB Seagate Barracuda
Sound Blaster Audigy 2
Logitech x-620 6.1 speakers
Dracula S-313BB case in black
Q-Tec 650w PSU ( crappy i know but its all i could afford at the time)

Any suggestions on a good PSU around 500w that isnt to expensive would be much appreciated.

Nothing is overclocked im doing some research before i oc anything.

:welcome:

Only complaint I have is the RAM. Geil isnt exactally the best brand. I would look at either Gskill, OCZ or Mushkin

i'd recommend the Ultra X-Connect Modular PSU for two reasons. One, because of the modular cabling system, and two cuz its damn reliable PSU. And you can get one that glOWS. . . . i don't know of the prices offhand but i think you can get one street price for around $90.

Do not go go with the Ultra X-Connect Modular PSU! I've seen many complants from people that the +3.3v and +12v rails dip way too low to maintain system stability durring an OC. I recomend Fortron and OCZ Powestream PSUs.

First,
Welcome to the forums, enjoy your stay.

As for a PSU, "I" would go with the Fortron Blue Storm, thinking about getting one myself. I have a OCZ 450 Modstream right now and I don't like it, cables are short and hard to work with.

Fortron Blue Storm

Fortron blue storm is a great choice for the price. ONly reason I got the antec in my sig is I got a great deal on it.
