Well this has been in the making for quite some time. I think that it is finally done. I need to do some severe testing for any kind of problems with leaks being caused by water wetter or the neon water mitxture. But here it is... I will apologize for the pics, all I have is a webcam. But I will try to explain each pic just a little for each one. But as a quick fyi now, its a solid peice of plexi that has a Silver Coin sanded flat and attached on the bottom by using JBWeld.

This pic is of the silver coin and its smoothness. I will say that this has been up for debate. I decided to test it out myself and see how it works. Right now, its mirror finished. I used car buffing compound to reach this point. It has also been cleaned and will be even more before I actually place it onto a CPU.

*edit* This block has now been named the SilverBell, name has been given via Silversinksam. And I like :D

Pic # 2 here
A top view of the inside of the chamber. Its simply just round inside. I had to use some plastic to assist in holding the coin in the correct spot. I ended up placing the plastic into the actual Barbs as well to help enforce some turbluence in the chamber.

And finally a close up shot of the internal chamber. If you look very closly in the middle. You can see a Bell of sorts. That is the Liberty Bell that was on some of the Silver Coins. I only sanded the external side of the coin.... why the inside? Hell, added turblence!~! :D

Now, anyones opinions?

yeah now mail it to me to test for you.

Um, no :D

Another thing that I had forgot to mention. I am wanting to place some LED's along the backside to go in sequence to each other around the block. The black dots are where I want them to be placed.

Thought of something else about it as well. Here is a pic that shows the total thickness of it. It stands only about 1 inch in height. Its total dimensions are 1" tall x 2.5" across x 3.5 inches length.

Looks very pretty. You'll get lots of turbulent flow, the silver will do a great job of transferring heat, and the craftsmanship looks great.
Props to the man with the IFMU!

Edit: Those LEDs would be wahnda-foe (<-- too much yatta). You can never have too many LEDs (especially blue LEDs).

That looks real smart.

Wow that looks smart. I was thinking along time ago about doing the same sort of job but with a copper coin but i was never happy with what to use in the bonding proccess of plastic to metal.? What did you use, Epoxy ???. I like the design though its real smart :) and boy is that a mirror finish.

Please post me some results when you have it runnin id love to know how it does :).

I tried using several things, but as I sanded the bottom back down to get it smooth again and clear, I would break through the bottom again. I finally ended up using JBWeld as the actual 'glue' to hold the coin in. Ive thought that Ive read somewhere that JBWeld has metals within the actual materials. So Im hoping that it wont cause any kind of problems if there is. My water will have water wetter in there too. Im also worried that the chemicals from Water Wetter and the dye lite wont effect the JBWeld. Thats why Im planning on getting it together and testing it ALOT before I put it into my computer. Im going to force major temp changes in the system when its together running. Place it inside a bowl of HOT water, then switch it to severly cold, back and forth kinda thing. Hoping that those extremes would force any kind of problems to arise while Im testing it.

Thanks!~! :D

Hmm

I tried to use a strong epoxy resin mix but i my gutts gave out and i stopped before i finished and here today im still using my old Becooling block. The block just seemed to me well weak maybe i will have another go using JB weld as i never thought of it i must admit.

The plastic-metal interface is an issue with the slick new
gemini spiral WBs, too. I think cycling the temp for a few
weeks will show if your WB will leak. Heck, this might work
fine, but I would be paranoid to run my machines a 100%
for months at a time like I do without LOTS of testing.

Strange that testing malarkey

Hmm maybe im bad but normally my test involves well this.

Build the pipin, Run it to mains pressure if it dont leak it will do. Or air pressure. THen away we go.

Minimal testing but then i use drip trays :).

but i have alot more preassure in my system compared to standard in case coolers due to my head of water.

Looks great IFMU... should be effective. And JBweld holds up to stuff pretty good. The block I made for Silversinksam was aluminum and silver. I used JBWeld to attach the silver base and it passed with flying colors. I let it run for over a week straight before I sent it to him. I don't see those additives causing any problems. JBW has steel particles in it. The only thing that might happen is erosion (<-spelling?) and those small particles building up and eroding more. How thick is that coin? And how much JBW is holding it on?

PS... I like the Bell ;)

Heres 2 pics of another coin thats also made of silver. the first if of the thickness and the second is of the actual size. There is nearly no JBWeld really. Maybe a thickness of 1mm. Very thin.
