My jump from AMD to Intel

As has been pointed out he changed set ups on an even trade. If he "feels" it is faster then that is his prerogative to say so as he is in the position to make such a subjective comparison - and that is irrespective of what the reality is!
Oh and ANTiChRrisT you mentioned the arrogance of AMD users - I think you perhaps fanned the flames a bit with the post that could certainly be perceived as snobbish - especially with the inferring that Intel users are more pleasant because they have more cash - an entirely baseless statement on both counts I would say.

Well, looks like the AMD fanboi's are even ripping eachother apart.

How sweet, it seems "us" with more cash tend to be more plesant.

Glad you like the new rig, hope you can get to 3.4, it's quite a tough call though.

Dragonprince, post your A64 benchies and I'll post the benchies from my P-4's. I think you'll find my Intel systems beat the A64 in some test, the AMD wins in some, and it's a draw in others. So, looks like some top end P-4 can indeed hold a candle to the A64 and even burn it with hot wax sometimes. If the A64 is a Porsche, then my P-4 is a souped up big block Corvette Stingray. VROOOMM!

Just for the hell of it, what 3dmark03 score do you get with that 9800pro system batboy? I'm not anyones fanboy, I'm just curious. My measly mobile at 2600mhz gets me 6500 even 3dmarks.

I meant that AMD-er's say we have more money...

and intel "fans" seem to be less insulting when people say "i swapped my p4 for an AMD"...

I have seen past AMD people say that that crowd are more, openly offensive to intel users -- for purely that reason, and intel people seem to be more polite and/or accepting.

Whatever it is, its a misunderstanding. I didnt mean to fan flames, but i just cant understand why AMD users are like this -- the "AMD's are better in games" "AMD are cheaper" bs reasons are just a cover to flame us because we buy intel.

Common guys, both sides of the fence, stop it already please. This kind of childish mud-slinging isn't supposed to have a place in this forum, in the first place. Just chill guys. Respectable scores indeed. Although I've gotten 20k in 3Dmark2001 with a 9700 Pro compared to his 9800 Pro. One of my P-4 systems will do 34 seconds in 1M Super Pi. Should we post PCmark2002 scores now?

BTW my 20k was done with a stock 9800PRO, this is my everyday settings.

Plus more is on the way thans to l12 mod, now i have 225fsb, and a super pi of 38s

And a memort bandwidth of a cool 3500MB/S in sandra, this should boost my 3dmark up there.

And AMD-Me, that is the most BS score i've ever seen. People with A64's barely break 11,000...

Thats because an xp-M at 2.7 will smoke most A64s
My xp-M at 2.5 gets over 10k- serves to reason that at 2.7 it will break 11k.

He wasn't quoting my scores, I've never posted on Extreme.

I'll see about running 3Dmark2003 tonight, although that is mainly vid card dependent.

Sandra memory bandwidth with my 2.4C rig is over 6800, nearly double that of the AMD mobile.

comparing sandra memory bandwidths isnt relevent beacuse of the architectectural differences in the two processors.

Like I posted before, hope you like your new toy and who gives a **** which is faster, its a new toy until you decide to go with A64. People just like to bash each others rigs, oh my P4 does this can AMD do that, or my XP does this, can a P4 do that...who cares. Play the games or programs YOU BUILT YOUR COMPUTER FOR...and screw what other people are doing. IF you need help with it, you should be able to post in these forums and get the help of some people who have been overclocking for years. I know I got the same thing when I compared a 3.0C I had and my new A64 3200+, I tried to make a comparision for people thinking about both chips and people were under the impression I was bashing P4's which I haved owned many of. So enjoy your new toy and let us know how high you get it.

Sandra memory bandwidth is just as relevent to me as you picking out just the benchmarks that your system does best at. For the third time, post your PCmark2002, that for more relevent for overall system performance than any of the Sandra scores.

I haven't got any 3Dmark scores for this 9800 Pro, because I just recently traded my 9800 XT for it and another 9700 Pro. I'll run 3Dmark2001 and 3Dmark2003 tonight if I get time. What Cat drivers are you using? I'm still have 3.7's I think.

The reason I'm not too concerned about my 9800 Pro scores is because that will go into my backup rig as soon as I get my new X800 XT (hopefully within a few weeks).

That was with my 2.4C with Hyperram/A-data PC4200 RAM running at 3.4 gig using the 1:1 ratio (DDR567).

If you look back, I did not bash AMD, I said in two posts that the Barton mobile is a great overclocker and an excellent bang for the buck. I also admitted the A64 will edge out my rigs in a few benchmarks, certainly not all.

But a certain individual that shall remain nameless was the one that started bashing Intel and bragging about AMD. I'm just proving to him that there is no Barton that can touch my P-4's. The fact remains, you can build a super sweet system with either AMD or Intel.

I bought an AMD A64 3200+ and I forced my little brother to buy an Intel 3.0e. AMD with an Epox ep-8kda3+ and Intel with the p4c800e - Deluxe. Everything else is the same for both systems.

The sad story was that even though the AMD had better benchmarks in most areas (not by much). the intel based system was noticeably quicker when opening up programs and even gaming screens. its so smooth even in games compared to the AMD cluncker.

Shouldn't have listen to all these guys saying that the amd was kick ***. My *** it is! Their ignorance was my loss. Don't waste your money, get something reliable. Intel all the way.

My c0 revision is at 49c after 2 hours of prime95 at stock.
