if someone would like to donate me a XP2500+ Mobile and an ABIT NF7 i would be glad to form my own opinion on this subject :D.

vinny77 have you ever had an AMD processor before? why on earth would you make a comment like that?

yes My brother has a Xp 2600 and it is crap, hate it we have same Graphics card and he even has more memeory and My intel kills his in games, I just dont like AMD at ALL and will never buy one

Again, personal preference.

AMD me don't be stupid enough to post Intel bankrolled benchmarks. Stick with real world tests which every reviewer shows AMD domination or such benchmarks which intel does'nt pay for.... superpi/pifast etc. Thanks.

I HATE it when intel fanboi's are like "Well yeah? how about we compare my 2.6C against your stock 2600+. Oh yeah, see what I mean, intel is just so much better!"
The 2600+ was out in the market WAY before the 2.6C was out. It was competing with the intel without hyperthreading running at the 133Mhz bus. Second of all, what sort of losers compare their cpu's at stock speed when they have them overclocked so high?

I recently set up two computers for the jrotc at my school, I use them all the time, and they are 2.6C and 2.8C and neither of them "feels smoother" than my barton 2500+, or any of the amd machines at either my mom or my dad's house. I was actually planning on getting myself a p4 C, but after realizing that they felt the same as my current rigs, it would be a waste of my money.

Ya thats why we come to OVERCLCOKERS FORUMS to compare stock to stock.

They don't have the performance A64 wins there.

They don't have the price to performance a sub $100 mobile XP or Duron wins that race.

They don't even get to gloat anymore about how rich they are by buying an overpriced Pentium4 anymore Because, now, the overpriced 939 takes P4 place as the ultimate rich boys toy. (or fools toy ..depending how you look at things;))

It's all they got that's why! To compare a P4 with a 4 year old design (axp) for the most part which is half the price at stock speeds. Wow!

Yeah your right it is personal preference. He thinks AMD sucks. I like AMD. But him saying AMD sucks doesnt offend me. ALot of the people here react to a comment like, "AMD Sucks", by saying, "OMG he is a flaming fanboi, close the thread please b/c this is a huge flamewar with ppl flaming each other."

I agree with the comment about keeping your computer tip top shape. If you want that smoothness. Make sure you get rid of all ur spyware often(or use Firefoz/Mozilla [I'm not flaming IE users]), keep hard drive defragged, have enough ram, degauss monitor lol etc.

As im sure the Mod's have noted, your comments are ignorant, biased, uninformed and plain old inflamatory and serve zero purpose in helping anyone. Besides being absolutely rediculous. I would suggest you subscribe to a different forum. Anyone who needs to reinstall his OS every other month should be taking notes and not offering opinions.....
I apologize in advance to the members, Im usualy better at not responding to obvious flame-bait. :eh?:

why cant someone thats been screwing around with both pcs rated at the same level pick one that he likes the most without being told that hes ignorant, biased and uninformed.

Edited By SSS, Another comment like that will net you a 3 day vacation, Flaming is not allowed. PERIOD

The problem with saying AMD sucks, Intel sucks, AMD chipsets suck, NVida sucks or whatever sucks is it's not usually backed up by any conclusive proof like a professional reviewer does.. including a battery of test suits..a torture test..then a conslusion (never do they say suck) and all is published for the world to see. Add 10-50 of these review sites together and we begin to get a picture of what a products strength and weaknesses are.

The fan boys on the other hand, use anecdotal evidence (one or two experiances), incomplete evidence (rely on one test), and usually offer no proof even of that.

Basically It's all FUD and ******es resonable people off...usually they are hyping the product they now own to boost thier esteem/choice/safty in numbers I don't know the pshycological stuff.

List of pcs i had since i was kid.
1. Intel 386 33mhz
2. Intel 486 66mhz
3. p1 75mhz
4. p1 pro 166mhz
5. p3 733mhz, AMD A 750
6. AMD AMP 1500
7. AMD AXP 2000
8. AMD A64 3200+, Intel p4 3.0e

everyone of my pcs after p3 733 had all the top of the line harware at the time. It feels good to be using a quality product again. I thought the a64 was going to be very nice and it is. the statement i made about amd sucks is just a pun intended to inflame all u girley men and didnt have much behind it. i still like the AMD a64 even though its slugish compared to the intel 3.0e. even though my AMD is benching much higher in 3dmarks 2001se it just doesnt feel the same as the 3.0e. I like my 3.0emore, sue me.

I sold the system in the sig below and now I'm running a AMD64 @ 2.5GHz with 1GB of ram running at 452MHz and 1100 bus speed. i'd do it again... I'd love to run some test with you, see what's quicker.

The Netburst Architecure is also 4 years old. Have you forgotten that? So they improved it a little in these 4 years, AMD has done the same with the Athlon XPs.

batboy has some impressive superpi times... and is that realworld benches? sure benches are a great way to compare systems generally speaking, but if i were to decide what i liked better, i would base it one using both types for a long time. not awww dude that 1337 amd has an uber low superpi time, i have to get that!!!oneoneelevenone. since i haven't used an amd system in a long time im not going to make a comparison, but no one needs to go around waving benchmark scores. everyone has thier opinion. To those who keep complaining about people comparing 2600+ and 2.6 intels at stock, explain this as im rather confused. So you mean AMD just switched thier naming so it resembed Intels processor speeds, but really wanted to compare it to thier thunderbirds. come on you can like AMD but don't turn a blind eye to something obvious :eh?:
