probably wont be doing any OCing but it is possible. same with SLI. I may do that in the future.


can you guys help me pick what would be a good motherboard and Power Supply? and is there something that would be better that what I listed so far.

Are you overclocking that i7 920?
What resolution are you playing at?
Do you plan to go SLI/Crossfire in the future?


I would also go with 6GB OCZ DDR3 1600 CAS8 for $150 instead of what you picked for $240.

Well first off the i7 920 (providing it's DO / SLBEJ) is the best choice CPU on the market without spending stupid money.

The HD5850 / HD5870 are the preffered GPU choices at the moment.

A good PSU made by Corsair, Seasonic or Antec

Also what budget are you looking at for these new components?

Also if overclocking is not on your priority list and your not guaranteed to go SLI then LGA1156 might be a better, cheaper pathway for you. (though it only uses dual channel DDR3 [4gb instead of 6gb])

I would get one of these motherboards depending on budget:
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2

The PSU will depend on other components, just get a good brand OCZ/Corsair/PC Power & Cooling (I think OCZ bought PC P&C).
