:welcome: to OCForums!

This RAM is cheaper, rated at 1600MHz, and has tighter timings:
$165 - 3x2GB G.Skill RipJaws DDR3-1600 (8-8-8-24)

Personally, I would ditch the HDD and RAM coolers, and maybe get a better CPU cooler. This brings up the question: Will you be OCing?

For PSU with the CM HAF, I would go Corsair 650TX for $80 after promo code ($70 if you send in the MIR and get it back).

Yeah, i'd put the money into a better CPU HS then... Honestly, i think the stock cooler might be better than that one... RAM and HDD coolers don't do anything that a good fan can't do; besides, that case has enough airflow to cool the harddrives and RAM without any help.

Also, the RAM that Matt suggested already has a cooler on it ;)

Also, might want to think about a smaller faster hard drive for the OS/program dive, and then get a slower 1TB drive for storage. My 30GB Vertex holds office, and most of CS5 pretty well (i use it all too haha). A 80GB SSD would probably be a good choice for you to use for the OS drive.

Matt chose solid ram. G. Skill > Crucial.

And +3 to the better cpu cooler. I never really got the ram/hard drive coolers. As long as there is any moving air at all in your case, they will stay cooler. Tests actually proved that having your HDD's run a little warmer is better for the life expectancy.

And finally, since this is an i7 build, it wouldn't be complete without a decent hard drive. And when I say that, I mean SSD if the budget allows.

Amazon is selling a 1tb samsung f3 spinpoint for 70. Thatll save you 30 bucks

Okay so i changed the RAM dropped the HDD/RAM Coolers. But i am having trouble picking out a CPU cooler and i would like something better than a Corsair 650TX for power supply i could go for a little more power. I also dropped the HDD still looking for a new one and also Added a SSD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139133 . Any more advice would be nice. Also is there anything i am missing?

+1 to G.Skill over Crucial, Ripjaws are sweet!
+1 to the Corsair PSU.. you CANNOT go wrong with a Corsair PSU!

Save your money and forget the HDD and RAM coolers.. since the RAM has heatspreaders they will work just fine. Definitely buy a better CPU cooler since you're going i7.. those suckers dump out heat. At the very least, get something like the Xigmatek Dark Knight which has the heatpipe tower design which has proven itself many times over, to be the best type of air cooler. If you're planning to reach 4.0Ghz, then I would say buy a TRUE or the TRUE Extreme or even the Venomous X

Note- I am Planing on Over Clocking

Get this WD Caviar Black 1TB, it has double the cache for the same price :)

If you plan on going Xfire/SLI, then you may want to get a stronger PSU like the 750TX/850TX.

Do you need a CD/DVD drive?

Okay so i swapped out my HDD With the one you said above Matt and then i also swapped out the 650W PSU with this- CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009)

My DVD/CD drive is this- LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA DVD Writer - Bulk - LightScribe Support - OEM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106333)

Am i all good to order now? lol or should i swap/add/change anything else?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136592
1.5 tb for 110(+7ish dollars shipping)
OR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185
for 70(with free shipping)

Also from reviews on newegg, at the moment they are packaging hard drives badly(sometimes) and is recommended other users to use FEDEX or whichever the non standard shipping is.

Just wanted to point out the 1.5TB HDD is 3.0GB/s
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136592

And the 1TB is 6.0GB/s.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533

So it's a trade off of write speed for an extra 500GB if I'm not mistaken... and an extra $10 :p

Just something to keep in mind.

To the OP, there is currently a promo code for $10 off the drive Matt suggested. You can't go wrong with WD, they make good stuff. And the extra cache gives a slight advantage.

The 3.0Gb/s and 6.0Gb/s is just the max bandwidth of interface that the drive uses, SATAII and SATAIII, respectively. There are no HDDs (and only 1 SSD) that even saturate SATAII, so you aren't sacrificing any speed by using either. Plus, SATAII and SATAIII are backwards and forward compatible, so it really makes no difference.

Also, remember that Gb (gigabit) isn't the same as GB (gigabyte), 1Gb = 0.125GB.

Actually, those drives have the same cache; I just noticed that.

OP, unless you need the extra 500GB, then I would go for the 1TB for $20 less :D

No, problem. The whole SATAIII 6.0Gb/s thing is just marketing, until more drives come out that actually need SATAIII.

And :welcome: to OCForums!
