this is my new waterbloc, it is very basic but should hopefully show good results. it is an aluminum project box with a copper 2p in the base (which will be lapped) i will also add a maze design inside to create turbulance and increase flow. it will be made out of plexiglass because i dont think the sizes of the maze affect the heat exhange much (look at the gemini)

Hey, cool idea! I never would have thought of that. I guess I should visit the electrical supplier's, huh?

IS THAT A MAC IN THE BACKGROUND?! I hope you're using the mac for a test machine or something that would damage it!

Well anyway that's a nice looking block. It looks like you used a coin as the base just like IFMU did. Very creative.

IT SURE IS! ALRITE EVERYONE ATTACK HIM!!! nah im kiddin,

but whats up with the mac butt crack?

I just don't like how the Macintosh hippies don't share. Plus, to me, they're WAY overpriced for something that isn't as expanded and easily modified.

and the OS SUCKS! well every thing about them that i know of i dislike...

I think the thickness is misleading as it is a project box that is hollowed out. If you got a 1/8 worth of base you are in good shape. Try it with and with out the guts and I bet your temps will not change much!!!

Very creative!!!

looks kinda like a cant'a'nadian penny(canadian) i wonder if its bigger?

anyway, i got a copper coin from italy(euro) that my mom brought back a couple weeks ago, are they pure copper?
its about the same size as a penny....

thats really cool. The penny idea is very original. Tell us some temps once its in action.

It's a 2 pence sterling coin, they're made from coinage bronze which is a copper/zinc alloy (85/15 or 90/10 I think) and are solid, not plated zinc. Not quite as good as copper, in fact not sure it's even as good as Al. As for the size (picks up 2p coin from desk) they're near as damnit 1 inch across and about 2mm thick.
BTW overclocker if you want a chunk of 1/4" copper plate to play with pm me and I'll stick something in the mail.

Do you use Windows of any sort? Then guess what, you're using a decendant of the original Mac OS. Microsoft stole the design of Mac OS to make Windows. Macs had it first. Don't get me wrong, I'd never buy a Mac (mostly because you can't do half the things you can with a PC, including massive overclocking) but don't dog the OS, all Windows versions are BASED on it.
