I thought I would post a couple a shots of my new CPU. It just came today and will have to wait until my Asus Striker Extreme ships next week.:( This is an OEM that I pre-ordered from TankGuys for $1,050. I saw the egg yesterday were they have the retail version of this chip for $1,500...

I like the fact that it is a Malay chip. I have had good experiences with previous Malay's.

Anyways, here are the pics...

If you can find the time, I would love to see how well this cpu undervolts. I'm curious how low of vcore these cpu's will run at 2.8~3.0Ghz.

Nice let us know how it does.. you will have low fsb with QX6700 on 680i but unlocked multi will help :)

kentsfield are fun :D

Well if you get sick of it for whatever reason I'm a PM away. I'll even pay shipping.

Nice krag!!! I was wondering how those striker extreme boards will clock and an extreme chip to go with it!!  SUBSCRIBED.....

Thanks fellas. The hardest part of it is waiting for my motherboard. Woulda been cool to OC this on turkey day. Oh well,

@eva2000 & Gautam, What motherboards are producing the highest FSB for Kentfield if either of you happen to know.

Have fun krag :D

Krag... what a beast. Got my attention (and my sub!) Can't wait to see those results man.

subscribed - want to see this beast in action on the Striker 680i

can you see what this CPU will do on some high end air cooling and/or possibly water cooling? and what it'll do at lower voltages (under 1.50v)?

Asus P5W64 WS Pro ~400-410FSB
Asus P5B Deluxe ~400FSB with mods 460+ FSB <-- probably best chance with mods
Asus P5W DH ~330-400FSB
Intel D975XBX2 Badaxe 2 ~390-433FSB
Intel D975XBX Badaxe 1 ~280-345FSB

1333 FSB on Bad Axe 1

Is all I can get on the stock fan. Runs 24/7 at 3.2 with undervolt. I need to get a good water cooler and see how high she goes.
My X6800 in the same board will go 3.6 with low volt. and stock air.
I'll be curious to see how high your board goes.

Hung, what kind of temps are you getting at 3.2, and what vcore you using to get that?

Edit: I see now that it says in your sig, 1.3875v. How hot is it getting under load?

I just cancelled my Asus striker extreme order. ETA had been pushed back 3 times and it was due this time for Dec. 7th. So I just ordered the eVGA 680i board from the egg. I might get the Striker when its available later.
