How long did it take to get the rma?

What did you say was wrong with it?

Did they cross ship?

How did you play dumb? What did they ask you?

Did you get a newer dated batch or older?

Nope. I RMA'd a chip to Intel not too long ago, they sent me a Coppermine-T (one in my 2nd rig in the sig) back before they officially hit the market. I shipped it on a Tuesday, the replacement was on my doorstep Wednesday, so they don't wait to get the processor. Intel is very good about RMAs.

They asked me what was wrong with the chip, I guessed on an L2 cache problem, then I described the problem to them and they agreed. I then told them that I bought a Celeron to test the motherboard with, and they wanted to know a little about the system... but past that, they asked very few questions. Not even the usual "Did you overclock it?" I was both surprised and impressed.

well, i always get newest stepping... two 800eb cbo and two 800eb cdo back. anyway, i like their rma system too, but this time, i don't like my chances tho..(my P_S) ish is off and lapped. put it back on with crazy glue, but it is so flat and shin--i can see myself perfectly through my ish..

i called last monday, but they were supposed to send an email with directions, never got it. called back on wednesday, and she gave me the rma # and addy over the phone, shipped on wednesday. received the new cpu yesterday, tuesday, so, just under a week. i said that it just didnt work. no they didnt cross ship.:( when i say i played dumb, i new the reason the thing didnt work was because a pin was broken off, but i didnt offer that information, just sent it in. it was fun however, trying to clean off all the heating element off of the cpu, had to soak it in alcohol, and use an acid brush to get it all off, and when i was done, it looked like new.:D

Yea I heard Intel is very good with their RMA's.

Glad you got the chip, now overclock that mother to... 3gig!

Yodums
