It does 16x AA as well so whats your point? Hes trying to compare it against the X1900 line which only has 6x.

My point is that ATI cards have traditionally been limited to 6x AA. Now that the limit is gone, should we not test to the new standard? Also - I don't think the 2900XT can do 16x AA - unless it's in a crossfire setup, correct me if I'm wrong.

16x AA is standard, 24x AA is Crossfire. Like whos running 16xAA must be running at a low res.

No I will NOT be testing XP. I apologize, but I will not be bothered to install old software to test something so new and powerful.
But use an OS that is so buggy in gaming and hardly anyone uses for their main OS that the results are bonkers.

And forgot what site showed it the results from the card was nearly identical from Vista to XP so stop thinking the OS is a performance drain. Its not buggy its bloated, HUGE difference. Sorry for being off topic.

Has yours shipped yet? :)

Well it is some what buggy but ME-II's biggest problem is with compatibility. Being more bloated and a
bigger memory hog just goes with any new MS OS. We said the same thing about XP when it came out lol.

Back to topic.

Naw. He is relatively open minded about ME-II. There are some that think ME-II came down from the
big guy upstairs (and I do not mean BG) and are locked onto it like a PitBull with cat snack in it's mouth.

Sure I can be called fanboy if you want. I enjoy it and it works very well, easy to install. Theres some things that don't work and bugs me but I'll live with it.

I'd have XP installed but trying to get RAID to properly slipstream into my boot disk does not work for some reason, and well im not spending $15 on a fricken floppy drive garbage ;) So I stick with Vista for ease of installation, one day I'll do a clean install with a stripped Vista and enjoy it even more without it taking up as much disk space.

Oh if you really want to call me a Fanboy mark me on ATI ;) Im not just as closed minded as others about it though.

Nah, you're not an ATI fanboy. You haven't said anything STUPID yet. Fanboys just blindly follow a corporate logo for no apparent reason at all and make up invisible specs and false statements to convince other people to go down with them. The ironic thing about that, is it actually weakens the companies they're trying to support. I'm convinced that Nintendo would be a better company than it is today if more of its "fans" stood up against some of their policies.

It happened in 1993 when Nintendo and Sega both released Mortal Kombat. The Sega version had blood and the fatalities from the arcade and the Nintendo version was relatively nonviolent. The nintendo people dropped the SNES like hotcakes and bought both a Genesis and the game, and by the time Mortal Kombat II was released Nintendo had changed their policy.

Thankfully ATI is begining to see the light in terms of power consumption. I have personal reasons for disliking them, but as far as the actual "buying a video card" goes, the only reason I never bought an X800XT or an X1900 series card was because of the amount of power ATI cards consume, typically, compared to NVIDIA cards. (And, at the time I bought my 7600GS, I had a lightweight LC Power power supply.)

Mine is packed but has not shipped yet DM20. I was HOPING by a miracle it would ship today instead of staying packed, but here I am still hoping. I got my XP-120 mounts for this 775 socket board and I will be installing that shortly. Once I got that up, I can stabilize my CPU overclock and start doing some benches on my x1950xtx for comparison to the new card when it comes.

I would go as far as to call myself a Vista user, but not a fanboy. As for ATi, I live by it and WOULD call myself a fanboy. I've used both cards in all generations (except for the 8xxx series) and they were all disappointing in comparison, mostly on image quality. The thing that always ends up aggrivating me is somebody saying they have more frames but who cares when my picture looks better and I only have a few less?

Actually I can't remember but they post there tracking numbers late sometimes. So MAYBE, really I don't see why they wouldn't ship them if they have it all packed anyways.

Might not be max frames but average frame rate as well thats what I try aiming for the average in games is better then high or low frame rates.

I had to laugh at that. I usually get my tracking numbers from ZZF about two days after the package gets here lol.

ZZF just called me to confirm my ship address. The gal said my card would probably ship today.

Wow decently late on the call. So mines probably in the mail.

Actually they have never called before. The gal said it was a one time check.

Since ZZF had the cards up early on the weekend they probably have orders up the yazoo for it to deal with lol.

Hmm, I'm going to track by reference right now. :) If I remember my last order from ZZF right, the e6600, it said shipped but showed no tracking information. I found it from tracking by reference. When the package only shows "packed" then it really hadn't shipped out yet.

edit: I would also like to mention I will be benching HL2:ep2 and TF2 (if either of them have benches) they are shipping along with Portal on the 2900XT's called "The Black Box".

Yes, it has shipped!! Expected to arrive tomorrow. :D I got the information by tracking by Refernce number and using my ZZF Order number as the reference. Package data transmitted at 11am and picked up at 4:00pm from FeDex. Expected arrival time is tomorrow by 4:30pm but will most likely be here by noon (as is usually the case for california->idaho overnight packages with fedex for me)
