That is one excellent piece of writing. I will say no more. Hold on I will. That is brilliant. Well done AMDGuy.

Many thanks.

i was wondering if you were folding??? cuz there is someone named AMDownz that is folding for the wrong team....

just asking...

AMDownz (overclockers.com)

instead of

Nope, I don't do any folding.

hey amdguy where did you find info on the hip6301 because i have an hip6302cb and i cant find any info on this soic i'd really appriceate it if you'd let me know

Colin (Jul 26, 2001 01:41 a.m.):
What do you want to know about the HIP6301CB?

well is the mod for the hip6301 the same as the hip6302? if not then i would figure it out formyself but i cannot find any doccumentation on this ic, any advice would be appriceated also the MOSFET's are mtb1306's

Thanks much! Now if I can work up the guts to void my warranty! What do you think? I got a T-Bird 1.0 ghz overclocked to 1.5ghz. I should be happy I know! But will doing this voltage Mod get me to 1.55, or even further 1.6ghz? How bout going with a 1.2ghz? Will that get me to 1.6 or 1.7? Pretty good with a soldering iron. I bought the same one from Radio Shack you did, but it was to turn my Promise Ultra 66 into a Raid controller. To which I haven't done just yet. Got problems trying to upgrade the BIOS on it! But thats another story.

Layout:
Abit KT7a
1.0 ghz 266mhz T-Bird
Overclockerzstore PC133 ram Enhanced 256mb.
Enermax 430 Watt PSU
Radeon 32mb DDR
IBM 20 gig 7200rpm Deskstar
BeCooling Maze Waterblock w/ Lexan clamp
WaterWetter
Rio 180
3ft. of coiled copper tubing tie strapped to a 12-inch household fan (radiator) Got idea from this site! Under Radiator Alternative, in tips and techniques
Coleman 6-pack cooler (resevoir)w/ ice pak

Looks like the 6302 is a smaller chip with 16 instead of 20 pins. The same Pins apply though as in the 6301. Pin 7 is the VB or the actual voltage and Pin 10 is the V Sen or maximum voltage.

I'll assume you're at the max stock voltage of 1.85V now. I'd say you can get 1.6gigs out of it with the mod but you'll need to really watch your cooling. I'd try not to go much over 2.0 V.

Regarding maximum voltage, I can't remember when a last ran a Bird under 2 volts. Most of them like 2.04 to 2.06 volts best.

Yes, I am at 1.85 now. Really didn't plan to go over 2.0 since the database shows most people not going over that. Tried that radiator alternative off this site and condensation gets to be a B---- (worrisome)! Going to checkout a peltier and different radiator first before going to the mod.
Your advice is greatly appreciated!
