Hey, i'm new at oc'ers. These past few days all i've done is read about generaly anything i can read. and I've learned so much. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but there was no "general pc" forum.. anyways, this is gona be my first computer that i've ever built, and i'd like some opinions

p4 2.4c 800fsb
Abit IS7
400/420watt case
512mb Kingston CL2 Kit, 256mb x 2

Anyways, those are just the firsts, I don't have the money to buy everything at once so I gota start barebones, and just add really old pc parts to make it work.

I will try to do everything with this pc.. case mod, oc, and it'll be the only pc I can use, I have no extras hehe. But i'd like to get some opinions if i need other things or missing anything. Thanks a lot!

Great site

welcome to overclocking. you picked a great overclocking processor. my advice, as you overclock, keep your nose peeled. when you smell burnt circuits, that's a good indication you've gone too far. good luck, and post your results!

lol, thanks for the advice :) i'lil definitely try to keep all the magic smoke inside the computer. that's the key to keep it working :)

one q.. when i smell the circuits burning.. does tat mean i went too far and i can never go back? would that be the pont of no return. i hope it doesn't get like that hehe
