NB fan dying...

I have a cheapy cpu hsf laying around, would it be easy to make some mounts to use it. I'm using the NF7-S (which I guess is notorious for it's fan dying). This is what I have laying around.

Any comments? Suggestions?

That would be way more than enough to cool your NB, and it would probably interfere with your Zalman HSF.

For the time and trouble I'd just buy a cheap NB cooler. The Zalman passive NB coolers work just fine. I've got the blue one on my AN7.

i wish i had a pic of what i did for my nf7-m AND nf7-s (although i took the one off the nf7-s for my k7d)

take the fan out of that weak little heatsink, and chop another heatsink up. i had some thermal epoxy laying around and epoxied some of the custom mofset heatsinks i made and never installed in there. works alright with a little air off the cpu hsf
