I am having a motherboard dilema choice. I recently fried my BE6-II mobo, that I truly loved through learning although an expensive mistake.

SO I am considering going with another Abit board the BX -133 but am more leaning towards an 815 Solano chip based mobo. They seem very even in performance but the 815 offers more features ie)agp 4x, adjustable ram speed settings and fsb settings as well as official PC133 support. I am guessing these boards will get better with bios revisions.

I made an earlier post and got good feedback, although some said the 815 by MSI can be quirky if you do not update the bios. I am buying on price as well and I can get the MSI 815 Lite for $139 Can ($98 US) I have a PIII700 FCPGA and I want to overclock it with the most easy to use bios. What do you think about this purchase?? I have thought about via as well but have decided to pass and go the Intel route instead.

All replies are appreciated so speak your mind and preferences and suggest any links .

Thanks

I've never played with the MS, but it seems that when it comes to "overclocking" boards, the Abit designs are naturals. It's not bad to have a board that was designed with overclocking in mind all along!

AGP 4x isn't a big thing to me, and everything I've read about it says that it's not really faster than 2x for the most part.

I guess I'm just biased- Abit has been awfully good to me- it would be hard for me to go to another board that I hadn't heard a LOT about on this forum, and a few others.

I vote for Asus CUSL2 or the Asus Cusl2-C. You can find 'em on pricewatch.com for $110.00 US.
Just my 2 cents worth. tweaktown.com has an excellent review on the 6337.
I had a hard-on for the MSI 6337 for a while. After much review I changed preference to the Asus. All reviews I've read say its the top performer of all the 815e chipset based boards. It has a few quirks like all the rest of the comparable boards. This is a young chipset so that's to be expected and will be addressed with Bios updates.

Listen to Tim. He definately knows his sh*t. I also suggest you visit his home page available in Icons above his pic. I shot my mouth off too soon. I am re-re-considering my mobo choice. :p
