i'm thinking of replacing my speeze heatsink with a full copper heatsink (socket a). my current heatsink only has a copper base insert so i imagine that an actual copper heatsink would be much better. i'm going to keep the fan that came with the speeze because it's nice and quiet. it can't be too huge, i don't have a whole lot of space in my case for a big one. preferably i'd like one that's 80x80x44 mm. any suggestions?

EDIT: I'm looking at this one, is it any good?

Most Thermaltake products aren't that super. If you can fit it, I'd say go for this heatsink & this fan. It should be on par with the TT if not a good bit better than the thermaltake because of the size of its fins.

as cool as that looks, that would never fit. my motherboard just doesn't give enough space for something like that. now i know thermaltake isn't the best thing in the world, but it's surely an improvement over speeze right? especially since it's all copper.

you just love that hs rseven, well i do agree it looks great
but i think it might just be too huge
i would go for the classic xp-90
Damn Squasher! You're killing my commission. When I was overclocking my xp2500 I always wanted one but they were over $50. Now they are much cheaper but I run that rig at stock with a Volcano 12, which has plenty of cooling for stock speeds. The XP90 is smaller at he base but it's about the same size at the top, so it's not that small either. The great thing about the XP90 is he can always use it on another system like an A64 in the future.

i'm just curious, has anyone figured out how to mount an xp-90 on socketA?

cause if they haven't then why are you reccomending it?
