Rio 1700 (642gph) for about 33 bucks is the best ive found, its cheap and would have enough for a heatercore water setup, but im going to make my own custom res, and that pump sounds a lil too big (5.1" X 2.7" X 3.7") it may work, but im wondering if anyone has any better pumps about the same price?

Try a powerhead instead of a pump, you'll need different adapters but completely submersible and you get hella GPM with a control lever if its to much flow ive got like 4 extra penguin powerheads im not using in my aquarium trust me the idea has crossed my mind haha:D

are the DANNER SUPREME MAG-DRIVE PUMPS any good? they go for more then rio's and they there are inline. not to sure.

i havent heard anything about rio pumps being good but i have heard of them failing...

id say go with a danner or a maxi-jet 1200

the maxi-jet 1200 is 295gph and costs like 19 bucks! cheap and very good, i like it a lot! its what im using

but i dont think they come any bigger gph than that but the size is 2x3x3 about and its pretty small...
