summer sucks, heat is the enemy

anyway, i got a p3 700, used to be at 1001, till this summer..(last summer i had a pelt and a different cpu, condensation issues...) running it at 1.8v it worked fine, perfectly stable, ambient air temps of 28 and full load temps of like 34 or so. and now this summer, the ambient air temp in my room is like 40-43 degrees c in the daytime. at IDLE my processor and DEFAULT speed runs like 45-50c. i havent gotten a reading at full load more than once and it was 52. there's about 140cfm of air blowin in and outta the case, no deadair spaces or anything. it's just that air that hot dont cool very well. i'm currently cooling it with an alpha pep66 and the delta 38, with just a lil' bit of AS. watercooling is outta the question :( is there any aircooled hsf that might be able to help? and no, there isnt an ac so dont bother telling me to turn it on

yeah william is right.. the gladiator and sk6 are the way to go espacialy since there pretty cheap right about now. make sure to get a good delta fan to keep it cool a deafen your ears.

Hey william: I think we should just put a head topic at the top of the forum saying that the hsfs to get are gladiators for budgets, sk6s for mid range, and swiftechs for highend.
This would probaly eleminate 50% of the forum questions.

Meet the OC.com FAQ Project. This is exactly the type of action we are working on for the entire forum.

On your post, I see the Glaciator and SK-6 as interchangable, especially when you go with real temps and not MBM temps. On the low end would have to be a Thermoengine, which are fine hsfs in their own right.

Theres another thread here under cooling about a great deal on the Gladiator. You might want to check it out. I'll BUMP the thread for you so it's easier to find. (if you haven't seen it already.)

saw that already, didnt see anyone in that thread actually getting the hsf yet, dont trust the store.

and no, aircooling in ambient temps like i mentioned isnt a common topic here, which is why i asked
