So what port would i use for a ps3 and is there a wire that will let me plug in the 3 wire thingy?

You can use #6 or #7 but they will not be HD, only around 640x480 resolution. I dont think an HDMI to DVI will work, but you could try it(if you have the premium version of the PS3). Do they make a VGA cable for it yet? Not sure about that either. As for the 3x RCA, Yellow, Red and White, the yellow one will connect, but the other 2 are for audio, so you would need a seperate Amp/Receiver.

oh sweet so can connect the yellow there and a red to the subwoofer and leave the white out and it will work at full DH resolution?

yep, get HDMI to DVI converter. That's the best way to do it, otherwise it'll be kinda low quality and a waste of both the PS3 and the LCD

But yeah, until then you can use the composite connector for video (#6)

What resolution if i use the #6?

whaa that's weak. Is this better than normal TV's? I have a JVC I'art will it be better than that?

I have to use composite connecting my laptop to my older TV, and it displays 1024x768

It put out a signal at 1024x768...but since older Standard def tv's are usually limited to 720x480 actual pixels that's all you are going to get. what's happening is that your video is downscaling to fit in the TV resolution as best it can.

Not to say that you can't get a good picture, but it won't be anywhere near high def.

So using number 6 or 7 will net you 720x480.

best scenario would be an HDMI to DVI convertor.

Oh yeah, it's not close to Hi def. It's blurry and bland looking. :) But it displays video's fine. And it's definitely 1024x768. I set my laptop display to that and stretched a window to full screen, then dragged it to the tv and it was the same size.

Linky to HDMI/dvi converters at Newegg look at these and you should be able to find the one that you need.

Jivetrky, I have a 6600 gt hooked up to my 32". It say 1024x 768 in the setting and matches the picture on my monitor. The problem is that the TV is physically limited to displaying at 720x480. what happens is that my card downsamples the 1024x768 image to fit in that 720x480. That's the reason for the blurriness. You are right, Videos look just fine, mostly because they have been upsampled already, so the downsampling just puts them back to what they were.
