Don't skimp on the power supply as a bad one can ruin the rest of your investment.

I stay away from any power supply that comes bundled with a case.

A good cheap option (I am assuming this is a budget system), is the 420w ttgi power supply at ww.directron.com (marketed as superflower) At $30, its a pretty quality supply.

Why get a combo drive when you can get a dvd burner for $20 more. I know you can say that about most parts (i.e. spend a just a little more for xxx), but Even for just backups, the dvd burner is very handy.

Instead of a fx5200 consider finding a geforce 4 ti4200 for sale used or possibly refurbished (would be hard to find new). Costs the same, but is a good 5x faster for most things.

definately stay away from the FX 5200's, had one still have it, soon to become a dart board and don't skimp on the power supply it'll cause you more headaches than anything it's worth.
