I recently built a new machine with 2 6600gt's an Asus P5ND2-sli motherboard, an intel 530 3.0ghz cpu and 1 gig of kingston ddr2 valueram 533 mhz (in dual channel). After putting this all together I was anxious to start playing some of my favorite games. I started Quake 4 and to my surprise my framerates were in the toilet. The previous setup I had was an albatron board, X600XT and 1 gig of ram and I had no trouble running Quake or Doom 3. I followed the instructions in the motherboard manual when I set this up, so I know it's put together correctly. I even double checked the video card installation with nvidia's website and I still have crappy fps. I noticed that in the bios that my memory latency timings were set to auto, could this be some of it? I am not really sure where to go from here, is there something I'm missing? Thanks for any help.

when you turned on your machine after hooking up both video cards did it pop up and say you could use sli? I know there are some settings in the bios on amd boards that have to be changed in order to utilize sli. Are you running the newest drivers or the ones that came with the video cards? what brands are those video cards?

Yeah checked the box when it popped up and I got the brand new drivers from nvidia. I even went and tried the previous drivers with the same result. These are Chaintech cards, am I nuts or should this be a decent machine?

Personally i have never been impressed with chaintech, after one of their mobo's fried my ram proc and psu i kinda don't like em, but this should be better, have you tried 3d05? whats your score? i know this may sound stupid, but did you flip your sli card? Did you check your bios for anything like " SLI broadcast arpeture" ? lemme know

I am looking more at the memory now. My timings are running 4-4-11-15 or some such, I don't remember my 3d mark 03 score but my aquamark score was 27,600. With my old setup (an x600xt, same cpu, and 1 gig of 333) I hit 33,000 do these scores sound right? I checked out the bios it seems OK, I'm going to take the machine to work with me and have one of the IT techs reset the memory timings and see if that helps.
