I am thinking of buying an AMD thunderbird 1.0 ghz...what's a good mobo for it that doesn't cost alot? and I currently have an intel pc, will I need to buy a new HD or soundcard to get it to work with AMD?
thanks

Your current HD and sound will work just fine as it is PCI based same goes for graphics card as it is AGP based.

As to mobo, you need to decide between DDR ram and normal SDRAM. Various people recommend different mobos. So far I have heard great stuff from the Epox Ep8k7a, but it uses DDR RAM so you might have to buy new RAM. The Abit seems to be a good mobo for SDRAM. SOmebidy with the model number of the abit mobo?

Go with the Abit KT7A, that's my advice. It's fairly cheap nowadays, and I've had good luck with mine. Check out my signature.

I like the Abit KT7A-Raid its a great quality and exceptionally stable mobo which has had some great reviews in its time, not only that it is well respected and widely used in these forums which makes getting help easy.
