I have set up the A7V with bios voltage up at max, 1.85. This reads as 1.92 on MBM.

The multiplyer and FSB are stock.

Too high? How long before raising multiplier?

Should I raise the multiplier and go easy on FSB, stop at 105, say?

I'm running Folding@home, but on a modem, it shut's down when I go to work and lose my connection at some point.

So it's been there at the higher voltage for a day now.

I did read the guides. Can't locate this exact information. Those guides are great to have, but it's hard to find what I need to know.

I already messed up a Duron 700, possibly by maxing everything instantly and running for months.

I want to follow a better method on this chip. Thanks!

Hans I don't agree with your methods of overclocking. I would push teh multiplier and fsb up as high as possible before even upping the vcore! the heat is your enemy and the default vcore is fine for some pretty good overclocking. I would burn in the chip with prime95 and use mbm5 to watch your temps try to keep load temps below 45C.

You should try Seti@home, you can "cache" a couple Work Units and won't have troubles with connection to your ISP... Try Seti, I'm sure you'll stick with it. And regarding your overclocking procedures... I would recomend you not to tweak the core voltage unless needed for stability. I really mean " needed" .Other thing is you could use seti to burn in real good with the system as stock, that way if the cpu die inside the warranty period, you have all the rights to claim . After burn up, you overclock as much as it can take, hear it screaming for merci, back it a bit and you are good to go.....

Thanks for all the good advice. A good method and sounds pretty simple.

Hi All

"Lower the multiplier...up the vcore... keep temp down"

Well the way to "burn in" a cpu is to lower multiplier and to up the vcore to +/- 2.0v... remember heat is your enemy so keep a lookout at the temp... you want your temp to stay below 50c. Run prime95 (full cycle....about 16hrs). I ran 3D Mark during this period to really stress the cpu....WATCH YOUR TEMP...
After the 16hrs I set my "T'Bird 1000" to 133x9 and dropped my vcore to 1.6v. It rocks dude. My temp at full load after 4hrs is 45c. I will be pushing this baby all the way and hope to hit the 1800 mark.

wow, thanks for the good info and link.

Really interesting stuff...
