Looking for a real good deal on a DVD-ROM drive for a computer. so I can play DVDs and things like that on it as well and need my other one for my main rig (bad idea to play DVDs on a DVD burner after all). Thanks for the help :D

(extra: a reputable source for the drive would be nice....)

The Lite-Ons work great, avoid Sony PC stuff at all costs. Pioneer and Toshiba also make decent drives, and Newegg has some of the lowest prices on them available.

I got the new liteon dvd drive. The old one didnt have a headphones jack or any buttons for selecting tracks or volume control, but the new one does. If you want a pic to see how it looks in a system, email me and I will send you one. Nice drive and works perfectly.

http://www.newegg.com (i think it was $39 when i bought it, but i may be wrong).

Googlegear.com has the liteon for 37 and free shipping just picked one up. They also have an Artec for 33.

My Pioneer 16x Slot load is the GOD of all dvd drives :D

It is SO nice not having to wait for a tray to come out and go back in. :p
