need freeware ntfs recovery

I have lost a partitioned drive in Windows XP. I have used a demo version of active partition to see the data is still on that drive, but the demo version won't allow you to recover the data. Anybody know of a good NTFS drive/file recovery freeware?

bump, interested in this one myself. The only alternatives I have heard of were very costly.

Through all my searches for even a FAT freeware recovery util, I couldn't find one. If you're data's worth $50, shell it out. The recovery util I used is probably the only piece of downloaded software that I've downloaded a full version of (which requires payment). Definatly worth it IMO.

oh, and ntfs <> ntfs in a specific os. there's at least 3 versions of ntfs, make sure it supports the right one
