Hi, folks,

I'm having difficulty changing the Vcore on my Asus P5B, BIOS v0804.
I can look right at the page and see Vcore at 1.554, which is too high (and was NOT stock temp). However, I am unable to figure out how to adjust the voltage setting, as nothing I have done causes the numbers to change.

This is my first venture into overclocking, and I've read up on what the CPU can get up to, gig-wise, and I've increased the fsb MHz incrementally, but just cannot get the Vcore setting to react at all.

Rig:

Home-built,
CPU Intel E6400
Cooler Zalman CNPS9500
mobo Asus P5B Deluxe
PSU OCZ 600w
GPU Foxconn GeForce 8800GTS, 640MB (factory OC'd)
RAM two sticks of 1G GSkill
case Antec P180B

Thanks for your attention.

yes, 1.554 is kinda high. I'm not too sure about P5B but on the P5k, I have to set "overclocking" in advance tab to manuel. You should be able to see the voltage for CPU at the bottom.

Hope this helps

Cheers and good luck in ocing :) Always exciting and adrenaline filled the first time round!

help with Vcore adjustments

Thank you, Blazing Fire, for your kind words. I'm leaving town for a few days, so I'll try your suggestion when I get back. I'm sure it's something like this that I've been missing.
