Hello all.

I got a Brother printer HL-L2370DW duplex printer. I try to print duplex but unable to print it. I updated the printer firmware and still get the same result. I did some searching on youtube videos and say, you need to go to control panel > Device Settings and check "Duplex Unit Install". In my Device Settings I don;t see such option. On the printer preferences I checked two sides printing and I see the preview of side 1 and side 2 of the document. But I still not getting both side print. Please look at the screen shot see if you can help me out. Thank you.

I see you have multiple copies of the printer installed. Maybe try deleting those and consider deleting the driver's from the print spooler directory (look up how to do this) and install them fresh and try.

Is duplexing turned on in the printer settings as well (on the physical printer not in driver settings)?

Hey Janus67 Thanks for your input, much appreciated. Yes, I am seeing two copies of the printer software installed on the PC and I just removed by the "Remove Device" I also just look at the physical button of the printer, there is no such button for "Duplex" I did go the thru the General setup and going thru each of the printer fucntions and there is no such any button mention for Duplex printing. I don't normally do Duplex printing. Only this rare ocassion needed duplex print.

Did you try downloading and installing the driver directly from brothers website?

Janus67. I updated the firmware via Brother iPrint&Scan App that tell me there is a newer version of the software. That means should it including the new driver? I have no idea.

I went on Brother website and download the driver for HL-L2370DW printer. I find it is so troublesome to install the driver. I am confused. I downloaded the driver file name > ( Y17B_C1-hostm-190.EXE I double click on it and it is Zip Self Decompression and giving me a folder that contains so many things that I do not understand. Its does not look like anything I can install. I attach some screen shot here. Please take a peek at it.

Go to the driver settings for the printer, tell it you're adding a new driver and point to that directory. It will know what to do

Janus67. Per your instruction and I just did that. Please see screen shot.

I have a similar printer. Where are you trying to print from ? Is it a physically connected PC ? Or Wifi ? My Brother HL-2395DW is a PITA when physically connected so I use Wifi.

Does that Printer have a touch screen on it ? If so did you check to see if it has a firmware update pending. They come out fairly often on mine. EDIT I just looked at the 2370 , looks like it doesn't.

Sorry about late respond. The printer is connected via wifi. Can you please upload screen shot of the exact steps to get the printer to print duplex, so that I can try to so the same procedure as your. Perhaps, I am missing something at my end. The printer firmware is up to date.

I hit the chrome hamburger buttin to get to first screen and then more settings, 2 sided. So obviously this is off a web page. If you have the settings here. Than the problem must lie with whatever doc your printing out of. It is Wifi from a Windows laptop. I have the same settings on my chromebook.

I think you are on your way to solving this issue.

In my experience, issues similar to this all derive from an outdated or incorrect driver. Also, and forgive me as I'm not trying to insult you, make sure your printer does indeed have duplex capability. For example, my HP color laser printer can print duplex *if* I tell the printer to print in duplex AND I manually take the half printed job, flip the paper and insert it back into the tray. It's a manual duplex.

Assuming that your printer is fully duplex, make sure you have the most up to date driver for the exact model of printer you have.

Late reply, sorry about that and thanks for trying to help. Yes my printer is indeed a duplex printer hence the "DW" HL-L2370DW duplex printer. I have also tried manual duplex printing and it does not work out for me because of this specific print lay out. After many failed duplex printing I stop trying.

Could it be the driver setting? Making sure duplex is an option.

Also, check the print settings in Word/Excel. If Windows is pointed at the wrong driver (E.G. Multiple installs of the same printer) or if the print setting in Office/Adobe are set to simplex print ... Just ideas for things to look at. There has to be a solution. Printers were always the bain of our department at work.

What version of windows?

Tried this page for troubleshooting duplex printing?

It may think you have a later version of the driver installed if they generic printer driver has a newer date than the downloaded version.

There is a BRAND NEW driver available for download, I mean Nov 6, 2024 new. Make sure you download the full version.

After downloading and doubleclicking the EXE, it should extract and automatically start the install program.
If not, check that you are logged in as Admin.
If it doesn't automatically you can manually start the install program or restart it manually if it crashes. It will be in the extracted folder named "start.exe" (you may have file extensions hidden, I hate not seeing it so I have extensions enabled).
