Looking to purchase one of these...

1) NEC/MITSUBISHI DP930SB-BK 19" SuperBright Diamondtron CRT Monitor

2) NEC/MITSUBISHI FE991SB-BK 19" SuperBright Diamondtron CRT Monitor

Which would be best for gaming. Read some post that suggested the FE991SB-BK. Does this perform better than the DP930SB model.

Read also that when you purchase an appature-grille monitor you will see two extremely-fine horizontal lines running across the screen about one quarter of the way both from the top and bottom of the monitor. Saw that these are shadows of horizontal wires that prevent the grille from receiving any transportion shock damage. Furthermore, I understand that any electromagnetic interference with the monitor-or any monitor for that reason-will cause a slight color distoration. Is this usually corrected by a degauss or by simply turning the monitor off? What is the pros/cons of each? Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the DP930 has a .24ag while the FE991 has a variable .24-.25ag or something like that. These are both listed on newegg.com.

I think the DP930 is the better choice. It's more expensive so it must have something that the other one doesn't. Both are great gaming monitors though.

Also, Dell is running some specials right now like free shipping (over $79) and 10% off of non-Dell monitors. Might want to check that out...

I have a 22" Mitsubishi DP 2070SB, and that is what was said about it. I can tell you that you can not see them.
Get either one, Mits/NEC are the best out there. Yes, if you run into problems, the Degauss works very well.

One last thing, GET THE DP930!! You will love it.

I have exactly that monitor, the 930-SB and i can say i love it.

You can only just see the lines on a white background, and you have to look for them, so to speak.

It has a great brightness mode, good for games and DvD's.

it is heavy, but it's gorgeous. Im glad i got it instead of a LCD. :D

Ah, I forgot about the white background. I have never really noticed them any other time.
