Heres the story.
I have an MSI D865PE -LS motherboard with a 2.4B p4 and 1 gig of 266 ram running in dual channel mode. I have 2 choices.
1. Stay with this mb and upgrade to a 2.4c and 2 gigs of ddr400 ram(4x512) samsung sticks
2. Get a soltek k8an2ge motheboard with a amd64 3000+ newcastle
Those are my ONLY 2 choices so if you were me which one would you choose and why.. Please dont respond with comments such as "screw them both and get a "blah blah blah" those are my ONLY 2 choices. ALso I should note that I only have a 9700pro. Im just looking to get more cpu performance in some games and if i go with the 2.4c i plan to overclock as high as it can go because of the accompanying ram. This is the only "upgrade" I plan on doing for the next year and a half.
