I have a ASUS CUSL2-C mobo using the Intel 815EP Chip. Socket 370 Flip-Chip Only
Anyway here is what happened:
I got a new P3 733 Chip FC-PGA.
I took off my Celreon 2 700 from the Mobo.
Put in the P3 733
Booted Puter, I get 1 long beep, which continues after every 1 sec and does not stop.
From Mobo Manual, this beep means RAM not detected.
Ram was working Fine b4 the switch, I have extra RAM, so I put in the other RAM from my other puter.
Still Beep.
Does not work, RAM using is CRUCIAL CAS2 PC133, 128MB RAM, 168 Pin DIMM module
There are three slots to put in RAM in the mobo, tried all slots still the same beep.
Took off all cards except Video card, still same
Took off video card STILL the same noise
Took off the RAM from the mobo, same Beep.
Took off ALL my HDD and Floppy cable off the mobo, still same Beep.
Reseted BIOS, by taking off Battery for 1 day, still same Beep.
Touched P3 733, warm when touched, so its not dead, I put back Celeron 700, warm, but same beep.
I do not know what is the problem anymore, I observed, that switched on, when all cables of HDD connected, so HDD was read, the CDROM was read, but thats it, KEYBOARD does not power up. So tried different keyboard, still KEYBOARD does not power up.
Nothing in Puter Monitor Screen, still blank.
Also the Mobo LIGHT is ON, the mobo has a green light which indicates that the mobo is getting power, so I know mobo is NOT dead.
ALL FANS, Power supply FAN, Video card FAN, CPU FAN all work, so what can possibly be the problem....
Also RAM Voltage is at Default 3.4, tried 3.3 and 3.6, nothing happens.
Note, I never overclocked this thing, neither the mobo, the video card nor the CPU. Plus no smell that anything if the system is fried.
Also, made sure Static never got to the equipemnts, always grounded myself.
I'm in Canada , can anyone tell me where I have to goto get the Mobo RMAed? I tried ASUS website, there is no place to see where to get RMAed.
Should I just goto my RETAIL shop where I bought it from and give it to them to get a new one? Also any idea how long it usally takes to get a mobo repaired?
