A friend of mine wants to update his Epox BIOS to the latest version. Neither of us have done this before so we are a bit wary. Anyone that can offer the step by step will be very helpful. Thanks you guys.

Copy the newest BIOS (2314) onto a Floppy Disk.
Then put it in the floppy and reboot, in the posting screen (Memory check etc) press ALT+F2, it will do the rest for you.

Then go into BIOS after and load OPTIMIZED settings to activate it.

Good Luck,
M_N

P.S. Please leave the power on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes.

Load the Safest BIOS settings for an upgrade. I have upgraded with my CPU overclocked before but if it crashed:eek: you would have a dead board!

Then you have to ring Epox and get them to send you a new BIOS chip, 10 secs of time saves a lot of hassle!

Don't forget to test the Default settings, sometimes PC's don't like them (very rare) you don't want an error.

When you're flashing it theres always an area that isn't re-writed. (Near the end) but it lets you know anyway.
As long as theres no RED you ok!

Good Luck,
M_N
