I was in panic mode last week when my brand new x1950pro AGP card died and I thought it was my 350W PSU that did it. I bought and had overnighted a CORSAIR HX520W based on jonnyGURU's review and the price/availability from newegg.com

I've since calmed and now in re-reading the review realize that 2 of the 3 rails are on separated PCI-E modular connectors which I can't use because the damn AGP x1950pro uses molex connectors.

Is there a way to plug in the PCI-E modular connectors and use a connector that separates them out into molex to plug them into my AGP card?

Thanks

just use a normal molex connector, you should be fine. that psu will pack a punch.

Just use regular molex connectors, that power supply is more like single rail rather than multi.

I know it "packs a punch" fellas, that's why I got it- lol

Just curious if anyone had an idea or recommendations as to how I should plug the vid card in? Should I use one molex from each of two different modular connectors or does it even matter and just use two off the same chain of three on a single modular plug.

Thanks for the comments, at least I feel good about my purchase :)

I would put the video card on the first of a chain of molexs, and by itself on a chain of molexs if possible. Also put on it on the chain that has the least amount of devices on it.

Here's a photo of the external rail plugs. I keep my drives (HDD and floppy) on one rail and my DVD/Fans on the other. I don't think it matters in my case, there isn't much draw on either rail. My vid card isn't much and doesn't need a plug.

You can keep your vid card on one rail with whatever peripherals you choose. I like to keep the HDDs by themselves. Whatever you choose, that HX520 will handle it.
