need help with madcatz pc controller

I got a madcatz USB controller (like an xbox controller), and i was hoping to use it to play NFSU2, but the control settings are terrible. It's physically impossible to hit nos, while holding down the throttle, and the brake buttons are very awkward.
I was hoping to use the triggers for brake and accelerate, but i can't find options or drivers to change the controller's buttons.
