I cannot get my floppy drive to work. I have 2 new Epox 8K7A, 1 with raid, 1 without, and can't get the floppy to work. The cables are on correctly, it is enabled in the bios. Win2k recognizes the floppy and so does the bios. When it goes to read the disk, it says to insert disk and nothing happens. I have swapped floppy drives and the same thing. I even did a clean install, and nothing. Any ideas?

Ain't this the kind of problem that you can do without! You've swapped out floppy drives, and replaced the original one that the mainboard /BIOS/Win2K wouldn't run right? And replaced it with a known-good Floppy drive?

At this point, I'd take the HDD down to nothing, as in fdisk(using Win2K's version of fdisk, ditto the format.com), then format the C:\ drive. Perhaps re-formatting the C:\ drive alone will help.
