should i get the Alpha PEP66U or the Taisol CGK742092 take into account price and the fact it is a celeron in a slocket

'Fraid I don't know about the Taisol, at all. The PEP-66 is made expressly for cooling Slocketed CII's and P3E's. I've used one on a P3E for quite a while. For some reason, my P3's run hotter than many folk's. But having the cA2 stepping accounts for a lot of it!

I replaced my PEP-66 with a GlobalWin FOP, with a 42.5 cfm 80mm Sunon case fan strapped to it. This doesn't cool quite as well as the PEP-66. Seven months of listening to the Delta 38 on the PEP-66 was all I could take!

But wait...developments on the cooling front now make the Delta from Hell-a obsolete. Thank God!! Several etailers now offer 60mm to 80mm fan adapters for the PEP-66. These fit PEP-66's to a T. As soon as I can afford one, I'll remove the FOP, and reinstall the PEP-66. Beauty! Better cooling and much quieter to boot! Plus one Dimm slot reclaimed. Yaay!

To get a cold hop in the bath and then run out into the snowy wilderness for an hour or so (don't dry off or get dressed or anything silly like that)...you'll sure have a cold or maybe even pneumonia (bonus!)
