ok, im making a new system for someone and im having a little trouble deciding which mobo to get. i dont know that much about amd or via chipsets because this is the first amd system i made. the systems gonna have a 1.33 tbird(266), gf3, 256 ddr(2100), ata 100 7200 40 gig hd. there are alot of choices, but i want to spend about 150 or less. thanx

I have heard alot of people liking their Iwill KK266 ( I think that's it). I personaly have an Asus A7V133 board and it's great. It's not DDR, but it's a great board. I think the Iwill board is DDR though.

I like the Asus A7A266 myself...it's got DDR, 5 PCI, AGP Pro, etc...

About the only thing it doesn't have is RAID. I got mine (no audio) with a 1.4 T-bird, 512 MB PC2100 Micron, and a generic hsf (which is getting upgraded as soon as my gladiator gets here....) for $490 including tax. I think the mobo alone was $143, which is right at your price range.

I just installed my EPOX 8K7A today and am blown away by the stability so far. There are a few things here and there that are questionable but they do not screw the stability of the system one bit. I have the exact same hardware from my last system except the MB and this thing is just... How can I put it... GOD I LOVE IT!!
