Its hard to say. The best thing is to just keep tweaking it. If you still have problems then sometimes there is just a limit that your hardware reaches where it just doesn't go any further. Just keep playing with RAM timings, voltage, your FSB, etc. BTW, is your CPU unlocked? And if so, have you changed the multiplier?

*edit* BTW, welcome to the overclockers.com forums!

hmmm

i can runn the ram at 133, but then i cant turn up the fsb more than 10mhx or so..

it is a old slot-a cpu.. u eigther need a "goldfinger" card or u can solderi it (scary ****t!) to open the multiplier. and i cant fing a goldfinger card annywhere!
i need a goldfinger card to adjust the voltage to.
what shuld i be tweaking? u said ram timings, where is that?

You may not be able to adjust your RAM timings...just see if there is a section in your BIOS that has anything to do with RAM and CAS Latency.
If you need to buy a goldfinger board I found one HERE it isn't the cheapest thing in the world, but you're lucky to find one at all.
Just repost and I'll make it back around here sometime, good luck

I managed to track this one down also...its a little bit cheaper and from what I understand it may work for you a little bit better. This is an eBay auction. You don't have to buy anything, I just pointed you in the right direction. :)

Those pre-KT7A chipsets were known to hit their limit at 108-110MHz... those who were lucky enough got upto 115MHz... u have a pretty unreal speed if its not a KT7A chipset. I see u have an Athlon (non T-Bird), AudiMan's selling his GFD, if u don't have 1 yet, get it, it will let u control the Vcore, multiplier... then it will be easier for u to O/C... only up the multi till u'r not stable, then down a notch, and start upping FSB till u hit the limit.
Good luck.

It works fine. I think I paid $17.50 for it, and I used it on an Athlon 800. I barely cracked 950 MHZ, but the reason is because it had a primitive .25 Micron core. Youre probably has a .18 core. I got mine right when they came out 3 or 4 years ago.

I got a quick question. I got a 1.4 T-Bird and decided to play with the FSB. I got it up to 135/34 so far and its on 1430. I then tried going a lil higher and IE starting crashing. How can I get the FSB a lil higher without experience the crashing affect?

Off topic. That speedometer in your pic there looks Exactly like the one in my Audi S4. :D

You can try to up the voltage on your ram, and if possible lower the multiplier. Is your board an Asus?

hmm

Beside bying a Goldfinger, is there anny one hwo have anny hints on how to get more fsb? :)
i have heard that u can "burn inn" your cpu by adjusting the fsb to the lowest and start the computer withoute a cooler on (!)
by doing this u can get 10-20 more fsb.. annyone hwo konow annything aboute it? sounds risky tho..
