I have an intel MoBo now ...and I will be upgrading to the Epox 8KTA3 .. I noticed that the connector for the power on/off , reset, HD LED ... will not fit on the Epox. it is a flat connector that has 2 rows for a total of 8 connectors x2... so now I have no clue how to dismantel that connector .. and how to hook it up to the MoBo ...in the front there is a little board where the on LED and HD LED and 2 switches for on/off and reset, the connector plugs into the board the same way it does on the MoBo side, one connector !!
This case is ATX but what's the heck with that connector !!
I have a multimeter but I don't know what to measure ... I can get seperate cables and hook them up to the MoBo but I can't tell which one is which on the little front board where the LEDs and switches are !!
Please heeelpp it is the only thing that is keeping me from firing up that baby ...

look in the manual that camewith your mobo. it will tell you which pins are to be used for which switches and leds. for instance my iwill has a group of 24 pins in 2 rows....the 4 in the top upper right are for the speaker...the 2 on the bottom are for the power switch. check your manual or find a manual online and make sure you set up at least the power and reset switch and the speaker. if you cant tell which connector is for which function on your case then follow the wires and see where they lead to :) your almost there bro!

Sounds like you have some pretty strange case there! Rather than jeaopordising and perhaps better from a selling point of view - For my wonderful new EPoX board I would purchase a wonderful new case.

I did because of the immense size of the board. All standard ATX cases will wire into standard ATX boards - seems like your case is not standard

Everything fits well, even my new Enermax power supply ...I measured everything before I get all the component, but I did not notice that front power connector that looks like a mini IDE connector (16 wires) ... I know exactly what the pins are for on the MoBo side .... the problem is at the front mini switch board ... I have no way of telling which pin is which once I unplug the connector from it ...
The case used to be a Dell Pentium 200MMX ... the only thing is that stupid connector is not ATX
Please tell me how many pins you use for:
ON/OFF:
RESET:
ON/OFF LED:
HD LED:

on/off and reset switches, and the hard drive led each have 2 pins and they are right next to each other. the on/of led has 2 pins but they have an empty pin between them (i.e 3 pin plug with the wires on the 1st and 3rd pins)
