OK I have 3 rigs, and I am going to redo my main rig. I have mushkin black 2 x 256meg dual channel kit in my NF7-S right now. I am noticing that I am doing alot of file manipulation 1gig+ ie. rarring and video stuff. My question is I want a gig of ram, I have one 512 pc3200 generic stick in another rig. I can't afford to spend $300 on new ram, but I can afford to spend about $150. This limits me to really buy one stick of 512. I can either match the generic one and have dual channel generic pc3200 2 x 512. or I can buy another mushkin stick and run 2 x 256 and 1 x 512.

I need some advice on what way to go and what it will do for my mem performance. Also is upping from 512 really going to help??
