need some help with socket adapter

hi guys,

thinking about buying a socket adapter from 423 to 478 so i can change from willamette to northwood.i dont wanna buy a mobo yet i am pretty happy with my ASUS P4T.did somebody try this converter allready?will i feel any difference with the northwood core ond the old mobo? i know it wont be 100% but i wait with the mobo to next year.

any ideas?
