I have printed FullOn3D IWill KK266 installation guide and I just mobo, so now what? I am going to do a clean install of Win2K... Since I have no OS yet, I would like to update to latest BIOS and get the whole ACPI and SBLive thing out of the way. Should I use Luckydaze Turbo Bios or IWill's? Enabling USB in BIOS before or after Win2K installation? Do I need a separate USB patch for Win2K (USB Filter driver???) When do I update to the latest 4in1 drivers, before or after Win2K installation and how? I have T-Bird 1.2/266 - do I install Win2K at 100 or 133 FSB? I will install Win2K SP2 afterwards... and then update CMedia drivers (how do you disable SB16 Emulation?) Is that necessary?.

Thanks for any help guys!

Man I would like to help you but you seems to know everything already just do it and double check after each step that all still works. I use and recommend the 042601 bios.

Hey Guppie! WOW! thats a lot of questions, not sure if I'll rember them all but I help as best I can, here we go: BIOS? If you want it to work, no questions asked, go with the Iwill, if you want performance at the possible risk of stability go with Luckydaze, or ask him (Luckydaze) yourself, go to the forums at AMDMbd.com (he and quadcity run the joint, he hangs in the Iwill forum. USB?- I'd definately leave it off until after the install and pray things go okay when you re-enable (I'm not running 2K, not from lack of trying mind you, USB problems galore! must be something with my setup) VIA 4in 1's?- Install right after you install 2K, ask around to see which version is best, but remember everyone has their preference. C-Media? are you going to use a SB Live, if so, you'll have to disable the onboard sound, if you're gonna use the onboard sound install 2K and update drivers from the C-Media website, link from Fullon3D's Iwill FAQ, and I'd use the logo drivers. 100 or 133 FSB?- always install the OS at the default speed and then work your way up, if you have a 100fsb chip install at 100fsb, same goes for 133 or higher. That's about all the questions I can remember, hope I helped some, and it's sometimes a little easier if you ask one at a time, I feel like I'm writing another Term paper! Goodluck :^)

Dawh!!!(pulled a homer Homer Simpson) A quick answer to the FSB question- the 266= 133 x 2, the athlon uses a "double pumped bus" so they like to say 266 but in reality you have a 133 bus proc moving data twice per clock, same goes for the 200Mhz bus 200= 100 x 2. I hate this marketing bull, they need to tell people straight up and not confuse them! Intel does the same thing on the 850 boards- 400fsb is really 100 x 4. Sorry about my little sermon, hope I helped!

thanks guys! I just needed some info on the USB for the most part. I guess I've been reading alot about USB problems and the VIA chipsets. Hopefully, I will get it all up and running with out a hitch. Some people have been praising 4.32 Final 4in1's. Thanks man!

Hey that's what it's all about, if you do have problems with USB (like I did) you might just have to suck it up and go to a 9X Kernel, I guess my problem is probably memory (generic pc-150), I'm not really sure, but I did get 2K installed when I turned off USB, but it started to be too much trouble so I went back to ME, go figure, I'll probably try again after summer school is out, can't have the pc down when you've got to write a paper...Goodluck!

Hey Guppie I would highly recommend the Luckydaze bios. The reason being that you can disable acpi. If you don't disable acpi in W2k all of your pci devices plus your agp will be on one irq. I have been using the Luckydaze 0426 bios for about two months now and it is rock solid stable, at least on my system.
