Need to get a Case that fits 2 PSU's

Hey, I'm thinking fo building an extremely OC'd system so I will need a full tower that holds two PSU's. One for a future peltier. Anyone have any ideas?

I don’t know of any Case that comes with to PSU (excluding those mighty expensive server cases) I used the IN-WIN Q500 case and cut out the second mounting hole by my self. Good luck.

If you don't want to chop too much on a case, consider a server cube. Most of the ones here will take 2 PSUs

Thanks guys,, I think there is a local store here that sells Cubes. It'll save me $$$ not to have it shipped. I want the watercooling stuff to be all internal.

Here is a killer case that could easily be modded to accept a second psu.

I've been looking at this case for a couple weeks now, drooooling to no end. 15 drive bays, 2 x 120mm fans, and potential out the wanker. Unfortunately I don't have the $89+20 s&h.

I love the fan mounted in the door, pointed right at 5 slots for what I take as "hot-swappable hd's". If your not familiar with new-egg just click on the "view it" link.

My knowledge of water cooling is extremely limited. Probably would all depend on the cooling system used. This is what I would attempt.

You could put your hd's in the top, back mounts, looks like it will hold 4 easily, maybe 5 and theres an exhaust fan mount there to keep them cool.

Then reverse the flow of the 120 below them to pull air in, and the door fan to push air out. (cold air sinks) Mount your radiator in the area where the hot swappables go, to exhaust the heat from the water sys.

Looks to like it would (might) flow straight through, though you may have to mod the front door a little to get a less restrivtive airflow. You could also remove the rear fan, use it for a blow hole, then duct the front fan to the rear fan mount.

You would have the exhaust of the psu, blow hole, and hd fans at the top where the heat would be. If I'm not mistaken, but leaning up against the lower bays, appears to be a side mount fan bracket.

You could probably remove the bottom drive bays to accomadate a small tank for the resavoir if you wanted to have that internal also.

It's really difficult to say by just looking at the pictures on newegg, but it sure looks like it would be hella fun to try.

Good thinking, but where can I put the second PSU? I think I'd be better off with a CUBE server case. Lots of room in those things.

I'm building a cube now. Modding 2 ATX mid towers into a single chassis. At the rate I'm going it'll be a couple weeks before it's done, but it'll have sufficient room for about any hardware I'd need. Planar and optical drives on one side and hard drives on the other, power supplies in both standard locations. Just an idea to consider.

That sounds like a task and a half. How are you going to merge them tegether?

Not too bad. The place I buy the cases is wholesale and it's about 60 for both cases. No removable tray, but I really don't need it. The cases have removable sides and hard mounted tops. I'll be cutting a base from 1/2" birch for stablilty and mounting the unit on casters. The left case will house the planar, opticals and primary ps. The right will have the HDD arrays mounted vertically beside the planar for fan assisted convective cooling and secondary ps for the HDDs and fans. Currently 4 drives, but will probably be expanded to 6 over time. The center removable sides will have the centers cut out and rounded, similar to a large window mod for cable routing. Not yet going to mod the fronts, but eventually. I haven't taken the plunge yet on water cooling, so this'll be aircooled. The current design is a total of 5 120mm and 4 80mm fans, manually rheostatted for now, till I build a multisensor thermostatically controlled system. I'll try to get some pics when it's complete.

I found the case that I'm looking for, and all it needs is one simple mod.

Chieftech DA-01BD - do a search for it and you will be able to see that you can remove the plate that hold the PSU to add a redundant power supply. All I need to do is make a custom plate that mounts two PSU's.
