Need to get some junk out of my case lol

I want to get both my CD-RW and DVD ROM's out of my case...So I was wondering if I should look for any particular extrenal enclosures.Also if I get a extrenal enclosure like a usb 2.0 one,will it be any slower or faster?

Hmm are there any external enclosures that accept IDE units? Ive only seen SCSI. Anyway, it wont be any faster(ofcourse). Most likely slower.

yes theres plenty of external IDE casings, for both hdd's and optical drives.
Get one based on USB2.0 or firewire however to maximise transfer rates and you wont see a noticable slowdown in comparison to an internal drive.

I HIGHLY recommend the Firewire or USB2 enclosures. THey won't be usable as bootable devices but they will be just as fast as regular IDE (for CD/DVD drives anyways).

Cool Thanks for the info,I never thought about the bootable part...hmm may only move one of them.
