nero not recognizing my lg dvd-rw

I just recently picked up an lg dvd-rw gsa 4082b and I'm running nero 6.0.0.0

and sadly it's not recognizing the dvd drive, all it shows is and virtual recorder for burning images to the hdd.

Any ideas on what I might try? becaut the dvd burner software bundled with the drive is pure sh*te and I wouldn't wish it on my ex-girlfriends

try updateing to the latest dvd firmware for that drive.

I would update Nero. I'm sure the latest version is 6.3.x.x or the like.

yeah I should have updated prior to asking for asssistance, suffice to say updated and it started working
