My friend came to me today with a problem. He has finally decided to get xbox live but he has no way of connecting his xbox 360 to the internet. He has no router, and his modem is 100 feet away in his garage. He needs a router to hook up his 360 as well. The easy solution IMO is to buy a cheapo router and a long ethernet cable and just hook the two together. However, this would require running the cable along the side of his house and outside to the shop. This would be a relatively cheap solution. He dosn't think his family would want this though. He wants to buy a wireless router and xbox adapter, which would be upwards of 150$. What do you guys think would be a good solution but still cheap.

Really just personal preference. Doing the wired route would most likely be cheaper, but then he has that cable to deal with.

No way he can move the modem closer?

He will need a router for sure, so if the cable is not possible, there area ab bunch of WiFi USB adapter for around 30$
