I have two computers I would like to get on the internet, and a computer I would like to use as a gateway (I don't have a router). Will the following setup work? I know The 2 comps will not be able to see each other over the network, but they can still share files by using the gateway...can I share the internet connection this way? Please don't offer alternative solutions, unless they involve spending $0...I have no money to invest in this, just wondering if it will work...

Yes, it should work. As far as your computers sharing files goes, that should also work as long as each machine has an account set up on each other machine (setup the accounts from Administrative Tools on the Control Panel).

thanks for the response, Gresyth...I did a little research on bridging connections in XP, and I figuured that part out...I have to get a new cable, though...but at least I know the Internet will work this way...thanks again!
