New????? Asus A7A266 board

Anyone know where to get any reviews or
info on this a7a266 board? (AliMagic Chipset)
I have been waiting for
backorder on a A7m266 for a freakin month.
They sent all of the other parts for my system
including the 1.2 266 t-bird, 256 pc2100 ddr,
only to tell me Asus is " ReCalling the A7m266
boards! My vendor says he has had 2or3
people get the board from him and when they
plugged the 1.2 266 in and turned on power
it " Fried the processor "?
So they want me to substitute A7A266 or
wait another month for the A7m 266 when
Asus figures out the Problem.
Any thoughts?

AliMagic chipset?? ewww....I hope they fixed all the compatibility problems they had before.
I believe the amd chipset to be the one to go for. I was going to take the plunge, but I have not seen enough reviews to be someone else's beta tester.
My upgrade from an a7v to an a7v133 was all I needed for that extra punch.
Good luck, let us know how it goes.....that's going to be one mean machine!

For what's it's worth (newbie here), my A7M266 board is working fine from what I can tell anyways.

BTW you should take the A7A if the offer still stands, it is the replacement for the A7M.

After reading a review by lost circuits I would not buy that A7A266 but would wait for the A7M266.
