New board to compete w/ nF4!?

I think when ATI gets more experience in this segment they are going to be a force to be reckoned with that may put nVidia to shame. Just a hunch, but after what they've done with their video cards I wouldn't be surprised. In any case, more chipsets and board choices are good for consumers. :)

i say its craptacular, seeing that it only has 2 PCI slots, and the memory banks are so close together.
The on-board ATI RS480 chip will allow you to still output a signal through the board’s on board DVI and VGA connectors once you’ve slotted in a PCIe card, and run the output through the card too. This will let you run up to 4 monitors at once, depending on the number of outputs on your GFX card.
well woopdeedoo. I dont see it supporting SLI!

ATI are excited about the Grouper because, in this board, they now have a mainboard that can match up to the nForce 4 for performance, taking away one of the concerns of many users and allowing greater compatibility and flexibility for ATI and their products.
matching the Nforce4 Performance, they can claim it, but I still dont see some of the features that the NForce 4 provides that this board doesn't.
I must say though the one feature that sounds nice is:
Sapphire have built in provision for active or passive cooling of the FET area. The FET area allows you to sense the temperature of the area through a built in thermistor, very handy if you’re clocking up.

I would definately stick to the Nforce 4 still. Simply because of SLI, its amount of slots, I like the split memory banks, which allows for better memory cooling, and it has more PCI slots...
nice find though.

I'm willing to bet large amounts of cash this will support the ATI Version of SLI, which name I don't remember.

2 whatever new cards ATI is putting out together? Ohh, druel.

This will get interesting, 2x X850XT PE vs. 2x 6800 Ultras. Yikes

With poor poor student me sitting in the middle smiling and dreaming :D.

Seriously this new board from saphire looks amazing and will proboly find its way into my shopping cart this summer when I allow myself to upgrade. Also the color's of the board are perfect my Canadian patriotism.
