What is the best motherboard and cpu for a total of aprox $100?
I will be doing little to no overclocking. I just want a stable system. I would like to be able to use my old sdram.

AthlonXP 2500+ with Abit NF7-S Rev2.0, not sure wether thats within $100 but its certainly not in excess of $160 and its the best combo for that sorta cash. BTW you do already have memory right?

This will be hard to stay in budget with new stuff. Maybe you need to look for something used. SDRAM is totally obsolete now and lacks the performance of DDR RAM.

Not sure about what's "best" but you can pick up this ECS K7S5A Pro for $39 at newegg.com and it uses either DDR or SDRAM.

An OEM XP1700+ is $50 from newegg, com so that leaves you $11 to find a halfway decent heatsink.
