Alright I finally got everything set up and running with kde, but there are two minor problems which I would like to resolve.

First, when I start up Gentoo, I get the following error:

fsck: fsck.rfs: not found
Error 2 while executing fsck.rfs for /dev/hda4

Second, I can't get Gentoo to turn the power off for my computer when I do a shutdown. It gets to

Saving Random Seed [ OK ]

and then just stops.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks--

"emerge reiserfsprogs" to fix the first error, not sure about the second.

For the second problem, do you have ACPI enabled in your kernel? how about APM?

I tried emerge reiserfsprogs and I still can't get rid of the error.

For the kernel, I used genkernel. I don't know if genkernel enabled this by default, so I'll check when I have a chance.
